Yazz Vegas! as Paul and Ashley Fly from Leeds to join the Tigi World Release 2015

Yazz fly in from Leeds to join over 2000 hairdressers from across the globe to descended on The Aria Resort in Las Vegas for TIGI World Release 2015. The 2-day conference gave guests an opportunity to see everything new TIGI has to offer, as well as the chance to meet and chat with their peers, sit in the sun and sip a cocktail or two, and of course, enjoy the glitz, entertainment and excitement that is unique to Las Vegas.

“Sharing what we do”, what’s new, and what’s ‘up and coming’ is all part of TIGI’s philosophy. Guests had the opportunity to see the launch of TIGI Bed Head’s game-changing new product: Joyride, were greeted at every event by the amazingly, energetic Elisa Fischer, U.S. GM, met TIGI President, Tom Monaghan and were able to learn more about education, TIGI brands, business building and innovation. A show like TIGI World Release is all about people…And there certainly were a huge team working to make every moment of TIGI World Release a success.

Amongst the guests from the UK was Paul Shakeshaft from the West Yorkshire Yazz salon group and his young stylist Ashley from the Leeds Rawdon salon, who was taken on the trip of a lifetime to experience the excitement and energy of the TIGI International Creative Team.

In an intimate moment at the beginning of the main TIGI Education Show, TIGI founders, Anthony and Pat Mascolo welcomed guests to the show and to their extended “TIGI family”, before bringing Anthony’s older brother, Bruno Mascolo, to the stage, who extended his own welcome and said how incredible it was to have so many hairdressers together. The Show included the new TIGI Collection 2016. Effortlessly styled and highly wearable, these are looks any hairdresser can immediately use in their own salon. As Anthony says the Collection is about…. ‘Your hair. Your way.’ At the end of the section, Anthony Mascolo stunned the audience when he announced: “I’m tired of creating different versions of the Undercut, let’s do something different!” Pulling out clippers, he proceeded to clipper off his model’s hair to create a short, and it has to be said, stunning crop, perfectly enhancing the pale blonde colour tones created with TIGI copyrightcolour.

Young talent is close to Anthony Mascolo’s heart and introducing 6 young hairdressers from the UK, U.S. and German TIGI Inspirational Youth Teams was an endearing part of the show. The young stylists had been selected to come to Vegas to work backstage with the TIGI International Creative Team. Each hairdresser was introduced before telling the audience what they had personally gained as part of their journey with TIGI Inspirational Youth. We’re hoping to see Ashley in the next line-up!

Upping the energy, a catwalk presentation followed, with models ‘sashaying’ along the TIGI catwalk before the team came out on stage to create fashion-led looks. Anthony explained ‘catwalk hair’ takes inspiration from the world of fashion, and adapts classic hairstyles to the latest trends, to achieve soft texture and natural movement with a touchable finish. The result he said, are classic cuts with a modern twist for an effortless look – what TIGI calls ‘Ready to wear hair’.
The last part of the Show, was an introduction to the world of ‘red carpet hair’ with a presentation of S Factor models showing beautiful, sleek, sensual, shiny, stunning looks. Protected from the waiting paparazzi by a cool-looking bodyguard; every female in the audience gasped as his jacket and shirt were removed by the 3 models before he performed a show-stopping, acrobatic performance, bringing the afternoon’s show to a resounding end.
The audience, including Paul and Ashley were back in the auditorium in the evening to see the TIGI Finale Show. Models strutted the catwalk showing just how TIGI does conceptual, couture hair and total entertainment. From good to evil with a tantalizing nod to “50 Shades” and a colourful ending, each section of the finale show was introduced and ignited, by fast-moving male dancers. With different textures, sculptural shapes and painted wigs, the audience was on the edge of their seats throughout the show. The finale culminated in a rousing standing ovation, before the 2000 + audience were invited to get dancing to start the TIGI Neon After Party.

It was a non-stop 2 days of hair thrills giving Paul and Ashley ideas, information and great memories to take back to YAZZ and share with the team and clients back in Leeds.

World Release is most definitely: By Hairdressers For Hairdressers.
