If you’ve always fancied learning a new skill, maybe now’s the time to do so? You may have jacked in your your New Year’s resolutions a few days after you made them, but who cares? There’s always an opportunity to achieve your goals, regardless of what time of year it is!
So, if you’re ready for your next challenge, how about signing up for the Yazz No 1 Hair Salon’s barbering course? It’s always well-attended – and as well as meeting some like minded people, you’ll come away with a brand new skill, too.
The NVQ Level 2 Standard costs £200 and begins on Monday, June 19. A five-week programme, it takes place on Monday evenings, from 6pm until 9m, and it’s for stylists who’d like to take the art of cutting men’s hair to the next level.
It’s an intensive programme and attendees will come away with the practical and theoretical skills needed to work in a barber shop, or even become a freelance men’s hairdresser at an advanced level. You’ll learn men’s hair cutting techniques, as well as facial hair cutting methods, and drying and finishing skills.
Delivered by qualified educators who incorporate a small amount of theory work into the exciting course, the programme features special projects, demos and hands-on workshops.
Focusing on current men’s hair trends, your tutor will guide you through the course and monitor your progress throughout. Get ready to learn everything from health and safety clipper care, to how to use razors, electric clippers, scissors, and how best to section hair and work with its natural growth pattern in mind.
You’ll learn how to cut hair to your client’s personal wishes, too, as well as discover how to club cut, layer to create movement, graduate to accentuate and define outlines, and taper to remove bulk and length.
Throughout the course, you’ll be working on your own clients in a bid to build a brimming portfolio of your work. This will consist of photographic evidence and you’ll have the chance to try out new looks on members of the public.
Students will be required to bring a camera to each session, and you’ll also need to have some willing hair models on standby.
With a maximum of eight students per class, the course offers an excellent student-to-tutor ratio to ensure you have plenty of one-to-one time with our educators.
Providing a Yazz certification in barbering, teaching takes place at the Yazz Hairdressing Academy, Regency House, Yeadon.
So, what do you need to do to apply? Students may be asked to attend an interview prior to beginning the course. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org expressing your interest in this exciting five-week programme, or give us a call on 07961 226411.
