Our own Paul Shakeshaft has recently been interviewed for a magazine article and her are some of the interview questions and answers revealing Paul’s vision for the Yazz brand and guidance for new business start-ups. How did you get the idea for your concept? I was already a hairdresser, my goal was to build a strong and identifiable brand in the area which would deliver exceptional service to all of our customers, bringing modern and bang up to date trends and colouring techniques to a local town, without having to travel into the City. Describe your style and concept. Yazz is a thoroughly modern Award Winning Hair Salon; we actively listen our customers and address their needs on a one to one basis. A Baildon based karate club is hoping for the ‘luck of the Irish’ as one of its teams prepares for a long-awaited championship in Dublin on June 17 and 18. The Seishin-Ryu Shukokai Karate Club have been busy over recent months, getting its students ready for the WUKF World Karate Championships. For some of the club’s students, it’ll be their very first experience in such a major competition. With support from their parents and fellow students, the club has also received sponsorship from Leeds-based Yazz Number One Hair Studio. Run by Paul Shakeshaft, the company has three salons – one in Rawdon, another in Guiseley and a third in Yeadon – as well as a training academy in Rawdon. Adam Bricklebank, Braves the Shave’ to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. On Friday 18th December at 12.15 pm, Ralph Thoresby High School staff and students will gather to see Salon Owner, Paul Shakeshaft from Yazz Number One Hair Studio shave student Adams hair to a much shorter Grade One. Adam has been growing his hair since January and his bouffant currently stands at 14cm. Adam,Year 10 student has set himself a target of raising £5,000 for the charity over the course of his final two years at school. Update: Adam braved the shave today in front of students and teachers at school for Macmillan Cancer Support raising over £1,100.00, so far. Salon owner Paul shaved off Adams locks not to a grade 1 as previously arranged but to a grade 0 whilst students cheered him on! Look out for more news in the YEP next week
What a fun day for Charity……… Stylists at Leeds based salon, Yazz Number One Hair Studio in Rawdon dressed up in their onesies and pyjamas to raise money for this years Children in Need. The Rawdon Salon opened its doors to everyone and were offering treats and selling raffle tickets to visitors. They raised an amazing £201 which is a great result. We would like to thank everyone who contributed on the day!
Today Yazz Rawdon are raising money for Children in Need. The team at Rawdon are taking part to raise some money for this amazing charity! There will be a few little treats, a raffle with prizes such as cut and finishes and facials! As well as dressing up in fancy dress and pyjamas! On Friday 25 September 2015, Award Winning Hair Salon, Yazz Number One Hair Studio, in Guiseley, Leeds took part in the Nationwide Macmillan charity coffee morning.The team worked really hard preparing for their coffee morning, turning their hands from hairdressing to baking. Yazz at Guiseley raised a magnificent sum of £200 for charity by selling cakes and buns with a complimentary cup of coffee. They also had a raffle and a tombola which consisted of prizes donated by friends, customers and local businesses. Attached is a photo of our Tigi Representative, Ashleigh who donated some lovely products for the event. Charlotte Newsham, Salon Manager said: A HUGE HUGE Thank you from the Yazz team in Guiseley to all that supported us in our Macmillan coffee morning. It’s very inspiring how people come together for such a great cause !!
Local Leeds Hair Salon, Yazz Number One Hair Studio in Guiseley, Leeds is supporting Macmillan Cancer Support and are taking part in a nationwide fund-raising coffee morning on Friday 25 September 2015 from 9am till 6pm. There will be coffee and cakes baked by the team, plus a raffle and tombola with some fantastic prizes to be won which have been donated by local shops and businesses. The response from local businesses and shops has been amazing and we would like to thank everyone who has donated so far. Yazz Number One Hair Studio in Rawdon held a hair raising, fund raising charity event for Comic Relief and the Little Princess Trust on Friday 13 April 2015. Well done Emily, Assistant at our Rawdon Salon, who raised an amazing £350 for charity. Brave Emily, who currently attends Benton Park School, had her beautiful long locks cut off by Creative Director, Olivia King, at Rawdon to raise money for comic relief. WOW! Her hair will be used to make wigs for boys and girls who have lost their own hair due to cancer.
