Yazz Puts ‘Fun’ in Fundraising For Breast Cancer Awareness

Yazz Number One Hair Studios in Rawdon, Guiseley and Yeadon will be holding a fundraising ‘fun day ‘on Friday 24 October 2014 with various events to help ghd fundraise for Breakthrough Breast Cancer during this October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Staff from the three salons in Rawdon, Guisley and Yeadon will be fundraising and will be asking customers to get involved by making a small donation and hope to raise £200 towards this amazing charity. As well as fundraising in the salon, Yazz Number One Hair Studio will also be stocking this year’s limited edition ghd V pink coral styler from the bird of paradise collection to raise vital funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer in the UK. Hair Raising Charity Chop – Leeds – March 2014

Brave Esme Holliday, aged 12 from Leeds had her hair chopped by Jess, Senior Stylist at Leeds Salon, Yazz Number One Hair Studio, LA Fitness, Kirk Lane, Yeadon. Esme was raising funds for the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs made from real hair to children with cancer. The money raised will support the charity’s work. He was diagnosed with stage 3 spinal cancer in September this year. He has asked that the profits be split between the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Neurology Ward at the LGI. Six of our top stylists have agreed to give up their time to take part in this charity cut marathon. Our doors will be open for walk in appointments at no charge. All that we ask is a donation be given in lieu of the cost. Please support us! Yazz Number One Hair Studio are also offering 10% discount on all retail sales during the evening. Salon Owner, Paul is donating 10% of total retail sales on the night to Pray for Murray.


Hairdressers, Yazz Number One Hair Studio, sponsors of Rawdon Cricket Club making it a night to remember at the end of cricket season bash held on the 15 September 2012. Entertainment was organised by Yazz Number One Hair Studio. Elvis Impersonator, Alan Hurst who with his great Elvis tracks and songs from the 70’s and 80’s certainly made this night go with a real swing! Yazz Number One Hair Studio also raising money for Winstons Wish, Childrens Bereavement Charity.  


Yazz Number One Hair Studio entered our very own team of seven girls in the 5k Race for Life on Sunday 1 July 2012 at Temple Newsam in Leeds with around 4,500 other woman and children. The atmosphere was amazing. It was such a great feeling to have so many ladies together all with the same goal to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Yazz Number One Hair Studio received sponsorship from clients, friends and local businesses. The Yazz Team together have so far raised £350 for Cancer Research UK.

CLOSE SHAVE – LA Fitness manager loses his locks to Award Winning Hairdresser – all in the aid of charity !!

May 2011 Workers at a Leeds LA fitness centre launched a fund-raising drive for cancer research after two of their female colleagues suffered breast cancer. A sponsored head shave at LA Fitness in Yeadon in May raised around £700. Salon owner Paul Shakeshaft of award winning Yazz Number One Hair Studio in Leeds did the honours! Food and beverage manager Mark Barbour was one of the volunteers to be shaved “Most people are affected by cancer at some stage in their lives” he said “this year two of our female staff had breast cancer and we were spurred on to raise money for Cancer Reasearch UK”.
