YAZZ NUMBER ONE HAIR STUDIO SECURE PLACE IN PRESTIGIOUS LIVE HAIRDRESSING COMPETITION

Loreal-Colour-Trophy-892Salons across the country inspire their client’s daily showcasing ‘Hair Inspired by Fashion’. Yazz Number One Hair Studio based in Leeds have taken this inspiration to a new level and have won a sort after place at the L’Oréal Colour Trophy North Eastern Regional Final 2014.
This prestigious event showcases the best hair talent nationwide against a backdrop of a truly enthralling hair show.

The 59th year of the  will not disappoint and we are delighted to have Charlotte Newsham, Steven Lee & Abbie Lawrence from Yazz Number One Hair Studio within the Regional line up of the L’ORÉAL PROFESSIONNEL COLOUR TROPHY and Melissa Barclay and Ashley Wallis from Yazz Number One Hair Studio within the Regional line up of the L’OREAL PROFESSIONAL MEN’S IMAGE AWARD.

Loreal-Colour-Trophy-945We also have pleasure in announcing that Jess Lyon from Yazz Number One Hair Studio has won a sort after place at the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Young Colourist North Eastern Regional Finals 2014 at the L’Oreal Professional International Academy in Manchester on the 3 June 2014.
The winners will now be put to the test, completing a number of demanding colouring techniques in only 2 hours 45 minutes. Finalists will also be put through an interview procedure and will have to explain to the category judges why they want to be a colourist. Each young colourist regional winner will become part of the L’Oreal Professional Colour Academy 2014/15, which is a comprehensive one year development program.

Loreal-Colour-Trophy-935Hundreds of photographic images from across the country were judged by the hairdressing industries most iconic names including, Sally Brooks from Brooks & Brooks, Charles Worthington MBE, Ken Picton from Ken Picton Salons and Chris Williams, International Colour Director from Rush. Yazz Number One Hair Studio fought of stiff competition and were successfully chosen to take part in the high energy Regional Finals being held throughout April 2014.

As one of the judges for the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2014, Chris Williams from Rush talks about the entries he has seen for 2014:
“The most exciting thing about judging the L’Oréal Colour Trophy is seeing the diversity of the work and entries we see each year. To make it through to this stage is an amazing achievement and now each competitor will need to demonstrate a sharp awareness of current definitive trends and translate them into all of the elements that create an overall live model look. Both clothes styling and hair will all need to merge flawlessly on a model selected specifically to capture the look.”

Competitors must create a live model look and demonstrate an awareness for Autumn/Winter 2014/15 trends in just 30 minutes as outlined in the brief, the model look must be original, modern and inspirational, the total package. The team of judges are looking for a trend-setting, show stopping total look that can inspire clients and hairdressers.
The overall winners of the L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy will pick up a once-in-a-lifetime prize package which includes a photo shoot in London to showcase their winning look, a day training with an experienced session stylist, a fashion shoot with Elle Magazine, lunch with their hairdressing idol, a comprehensive and a personalised plan to promote the salons win PLUS endless PR opportunities throughout their winning year!
