If you’re getting tired of the loose waves and bare-faced make up look we’re seeing all over the catwalks at the moment, you’re in luck! According to VOGUE, the girly trend will soon be out, with a brand new ‘grown up’ approach to hair and make up taking over for the autumn and winter months of the year.

While it may seem a long way off, it really won’t be long before we’re pushing our summer dresses and shorts to the back of our wardrobes and instead bringing out the layers and chunky knits. On the high street, the autumn winter styles come out onto the rails as early as August, so there really is no better time to start thinking about a new do.

Love an up do? The word on the street is they’re going to be huge for autumn/winter, with a move towards a more luxurious, expensive hair look in general. And if you’re looking for a glam new style, get yourself down to one of our three Yazz Hair No 1, Leeds salons and we’ll talk you through a look that’ll work for you.

One of the key styles for autumn/winter is the elegant chignon, perfect for wearing with a long evening gown or even while dressed down during the day. A sophisticated bun is also another easy look to achieve; just grab a hair doughnut to keep it in place, or instead use an old sock, with the heel cut off and rolled down. Simply search on video sharing sites like YouTube to find an easy-to-follow tutorial or two.

Of course, ahead of the new season it’s also an idea to get a good cut. Getting rid of any loose ends or dry, drab sections of hair is an ideal way to transition into autumn and winter. When everything else feels a little lacklustre (hello, miserable weather!) you can be sure you’ll feel fabulous with a brand new look.

Our talented hair stylists at Yazz No 1 Hair Studio, Leeds will talk you through the best look for you, taking into account your hair colour and face shape. Even if you’re planning on keeping hair long and loose, it’s always wise to refresh it with a quick but thorough trim.

Another style that’s both easy to do and looks great is the top knot. It’s been around for a while but it’s here to stay for autumn and winter, which is brilliant news for girls on the go who have little time to spend on their hair.

In terms of on-trend autumn/winter cuts, short and spiky remains a big trend. Think Miley Cyrus and you’re half way there. The short and sassy cuts of autumn/winter 2015 are even shorter than Miley’s trademark ‘do, and they’re only for the brave. Fancy giving it a go? Get in touch or pop in for a consultation and we’ll get you booked in if you decide to go ahead.
